History
Paukner Marítima was founded over 70 years ago by Anton Paukner as an agency for the vessels of the German shipping company Norddeutscher Lloyd of Bremen in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
After the II World War, in the year 1951, he resumed his activities in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as an agent for the already mentioned shipping company (now Hapag-Lloyd) of Bremen and the Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR) of Hamburg.
The convenient geographical location of the Canary Islands makes Las Palmas a very important port, ranking number 15 by container traffic in Europe and number 4 in Spain. Currently, the connection we offer between the north of Europe and the Canary Islands is the fastest in the market.
Today, Paukner Marítima is part of APSA (A. Paukner S.A.) with headquarters in Madrid and still owned and run by members of the Paukner family.
Since 1993 APSA is also a shareholder of the shipping company OPDR Canarias with three weekly departures from Sevilla to the Canary Islands transporting containers as well as trailers (Con/Ro vessels).
